2 States has garnered lots of positive response from critics as well as from audience. But now, here we represent you a different angle of the movie, which we have re-viewed the entire storyline and its content. As '2 States' is a strong issue of an inter-caste marriage, the above points can change your complete viewpoint towards your personal life. Check it out below to know what the movie has taught us!
Ignore Before Proposing
The movie has taught us that start ignoring the person you love, before proposing him / her or before making them to understand that you have fallen for him / her. This will make the girl / boy curious to known as to why the other person is ignoring him / her. Finally the ignorant will barge you with questions like 'what is the problem' and 'why are you ignoring me'? And then strike the chord by saying as you have fallen for him / her and that's why it's better to stay away. If the other person will have some feelings for you, then BINGO!
For example in 2 States: Arjun ignores Alia and stays away from her. And thus eventually, she falls in love for him.
Propose as 'Marry Me' on Right Time
Now if you are in a relationship, then propose for the marriage to your future-spouse on right time, before it's too late. Have the responsibility to be in commitment whole-heartedly, rather than just being in relationship for the name sake. If you are in love, then move to the next level on right time, that is 'Commitment'. Also if possible, then propose in an unexpected situation, just to surprise and excite them, and to make the moment memorable.
For example in 2 States: Arjun proposes Alia in the middle of her IIM Campus Interview Session.
No Bhaag Ke Shaadi
If you are in love and you have decided to move your relationship to next level then never-ever decide to marry on run. It should be a strict no-no to Bhaag Ke Shaadi. Because with that, nobody gains respect, and everyone loses reputation. Family will not be happy with that, and so do the children's with that guilt of taking harsh decision.
For example in 2 States: Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt repeatedly say to audience - a strict no-no to Bhaag Ke Shaadi.
Win The Hearts of Opposite Families
First and foremost, it's very important to win the hearts of opposite families. And even if they doesn't like you, hate you, or disrespect you directly or indirectly, still try your best till the very end to win the hearts of your opposite family. Never lose hope and never fail to try your best with ease and calm.
For example in 2 States: Arjun still tries to win heart of Alia's family, even though her father doesn't give him a lift in car and purposely makes him to ride a rick. Alia still tries to win Arjun's mother, even Amrita Singh insults a lot infront of her face.
Unconditional Giving to Opposite Family
Make sure you follow the rule of an 'Unconditional Giving' to your opposite families. Do something good and extraordinary for them, that they will never forget in their life. It's a mantra to win hearts. Don't expect in return, but also never lose hope that someday they will understand me and my love towards their son / daughter. Remember the formula, 'Unconditional Giving'.
For example in 2 States: Arjun did something for Alia's mother-father, and Alia did something for Arjun's Punjabi family.
Before Unconditional Giving, Have Guts For That
Before doing anything for your opposite family, it's very important to have that guts in your inner self. It's important to have guts to make that change in other people's life, without having any kind of negative feeling - such that will they like it or not, will I be in bad books or not, and so on. Always believe in yourself and your instinct - like whatever you are doing, if it's for something good and if it has a right intention behind it - then just go-ahead.
For example in 2 States: Arjun and Alia had guts to make something good change in their opposite family life.
Concept of Marriage to the Family
It's very important to understand the concept that if any two people are in love, then it's not only between them. It's not that they are only getting married with each other. It's equally important to understand the concept by a boy and girl, both, that it's a marriage between their two families too.
For example in 2 States: Arjun Kapoor giving engagement ring to each family member of Alia Bhatt - says everything!
Unconditional Support to your Lover
Give an unconditional support to your love, no matter how worse their family problem is. It shows the true sign of love. Accept your beau, in whatever crisis he is going with it or what past he / she has. Be the inner strength of him / her.
For example in 2 States: Alia supports Arjun, no matter how hot-headed is his father and always fights with his mother. She still loves him very much, and becomes his inner strength.
Marriage of Entire Family
It's a very important point, as everyone has to understand that a marriage is not between a girl and a boy. It's a marriage between every member of the two families. Each person in one family should be happy, with every other person in the opposite family, so that all should be in happy and peace state.
For example in 2 States: Alia's family members should love, respect and have a marriage with Arjun's family members, and so does an equal vice-a-versa.
Parents Should Take Final Step
Last but not least, this point is probably the most and utmost important thing that one should learn from this movie. In the end, it's only the parents that should take a big step and initiative. If everything finds good and there's nothing to complain on a serious and practical note, then they should take a step forward, for their child's happiness.
For example in 2 States: Arjun's father Ronit Roy took the initiative and went to Alia's house. He apologised and everything was settled down. Now that's a big giant step, to which one should learn and follow!
