Here, he meets another burglar - a female one this time - and they decide to work together and divide their profits fifty fifty. Of course, the female burglar, Mary, has other plans, and Kishan soon becomes a pawn in a game about confidence.

The movie was directed by Shomu Mukherjee, and starred Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Om Shivpuri, Ranjeet and Kader Khan.

Bawarchi is a quintessential Bollywood humor movie, and was made by the then comedy baron, Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The movie centered on the life and times of a family, which was famous for not being able to retain a cook for more than three months, also the family is famous for their squabbles and fights.

In this comes Raghu, a strange young man who applies for the job of a cook, and soon brings the family together. Of course, not everything is as simple as it seems, and we find out that Raghu has a murky little past. The movie was actually a remake of a Bengali movie, made by Tapan Sinha, and some of its plot point was then taken by the Govinda starrer, Hero No. 1. This is one of the best clean comedies to come out of Bollywood, and is still counted among the top ten comedy movies in Bollywood.

Agar Tum Na Hote is another classic Rajesh Khanna movie, which was all about love, losing and retribution. It starred Raj Babbar, Rajesh Khanna, Rekha and others. Rajesh Khanna plays a rich industrialist who loses his wife during the birth of his only daughter. The daughter, pining for mother's love becomes kind of a revolt.

Interestingly, the woman is a striking resemblance of the industrialist's dead wife, and he promptly falls in love with her. Things take a weird turn when the photographer has an accident, and is crippled for life, and the industrialist and the model come close to each other.

In an era when movies had their titles in a song, this movie had a favorite song, 'Agar Tum Na Hote', which was created by R D Burman, and the lyrics were given by Gulshan Bawra.

This is it, the movie that made Rajesh Khanna famous among the people who wanted more than the drama, romance and usual thrills that Bollywood gave at that time. Waqt was a film where Yash Chopra ventured into the multi starrer zone. The story of the film was indeed thought provoking and taught us never to take anything for granted. Movies which were meant to draw the masses have failed miserably and have garnered huge losses for the makers. Ironically even the conventional themed movies such as Heroine, Players et al. failed to impress. The downside is movies with new and innovative themes such as Aiyya and Agent Vinod too could not hike their USP despite having a strong star cast and promotion. Shirish Kunder who had mocked fun of other maker's film ventures too was left shamefaced with the turnout of this film Joker. In simple terms Joker made him seem like a Joker himself.

Being a film by Madhur Bhandarkar there was great anticipation amongst the masses. However sadly it had nothing new to offer and even Kareena's amazing presence failed to draw the masses. The movie was a complete dud in terms of box office.

The music of Aiyyaa surely filled the makers with a lot of dreams of success. However this creation by Sachin Kundalkar had to bear the brunt of having a lame storyline. Even Rani Mukerji's jhatkas and matkas could not shake the box office much and the makers had to face a huge loss and setback.

Film maker Shirish Kunder surely made a joke of a film on a huge budget. Things turned for the worst when the main star Akshay Kumar himself did not put in any efforts to promote the film. The outcome was there for all to see, a movie which was joke by itself.

Agent Vinod was welcomed with a lot of anticipation as the lead couple was the real life pair Saif Ali Khan and Kareena. However this suspense thriller failed to captivate the viewers and led to a loss of money for the makers.

The movie Teri Meri Kahaani saw the ex lovers Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor sharing screen space. Although the movie had a great storyline which spread across three ages, yet the final masterpiece failed miserably.

The viewers wished for something out of the box from this 3D offering by Vikram Bhatt. However even though this movie marked the comeback for the Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, yet it fizzled out within the first week itself due to lack of response.

Ram Gopal Verma surely should be awarded for dishing out flops after flops each year. The presence of Big B and Sanju Baba too failed to woo the masses and the movie was a disaster at the box office.

Touted as a thriller filled with sudden twists and turns the movie featured the sexy Bipasha in a red bikini. Yet this sultry presence and action packed plot failed to entertain the masses who were glad to give this movie a miss. So, players sure played their game in a mistaken manner.

Jodi Breakers starred the super urban sex siren Bipasha across the homely and modest Madhavan. This unusual pair however failed to draw the crowds and this Jodi sure broke the hearts and dreams of the makers.

Although the star cast boasted of new comers Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar the movie surely did not succeed in making the viewers deewana and the movie just vanished into thin air before making its mark.

However despite having a string of success and failures the year 2012 was indeed an eventful one for the Bollywood industry and we hope that the coming year is even more fruitful.

Kshay made its way into four film festivals and has been appreciated by the critics from overseas.

Director Anand Gandhi had already made a mark for writing the long running soaps such as Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. In this venture the maker has tackled issues like redemption as well as death. The star cast has done an exemplary task and the movie created ripples when it was featured in the Toronto International Film Festival.

Gattu could see the light of the day, thanks to the efforts of Children's Film Society of India. The movie was around the obsession of a young child Gattu who loves to fly kites. The movie highlighted strong emotions such as grit and determination. It also highlighted how hope and belief works wonders and paves the way for you to fulfill your dreams. Rajan Khosa has done an amazing task of making this film which was appreciated both in India as well as abroad.

Mumbai Cha Raja is a film by Manjeet Singh and it explores the lower strata of people who make up most of the population of the land of dreams Mumbai. The movie is a story of triumph and failure. It was officially selected to be featured at the Toronto International Film Festival 2012, the Abu Dhabi Film Festival New Horizons Competition and the Mumbai Film Festival Indian Competition.

Miss Lovely is a film by Ashim Ahlualia and it takes us along a journey into the now obscure ages where C grade pornographic horror flicks were considered to be artistic. The movie features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Niharika Singh and has won two awards at the 14th Mumbai Film Fetival. It was also a part of the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

SOM brings us face to face with the people of Malegaon who all are focused on a single goal of having their own Malegaon version of Superman. They attempt to do this by making spoofs of famous Bollywood movies. Much before the movie was released, it had already received 15 awards at film festivals.

Yet another black and white venture this movie attempts to understand the underlying desire of being loved which exists within each one of us. The movie was screened at numerous international film festivals and received lots of praise for the noteworthy performance.

Shuttlecock Boys was indeed very special for the fact that all the cast and crew were absolute freshers and had no prior experience nor had they received any form of formal training. The movie was about the loves of a group of four friends who belonged to the lower middle class in Delhi. It was about their success and failures. The movie reached the Gotham Screen International Film Festival, New York, the Seattle South Asian Film Festival and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival.

Delhi in a Day is a film by Prashant Nair and it is paved against the backdrop of a well to do family residing in Delhi. The film makes a mark on the socio economic strata and remains the most focused movie made till date.

Peddlers is touted as a crime thriller and revolves around the lives of the three main protagonists who have borne the brunt of the brutality of society since their childhood. The movie was featured in the 2012 International Critics' Week which is a film event in Southern France.

These movies have proved that a lot more goes into making a film, besides having a big budget or a popular star cast.
