Launched by his father in 'Rocky' in the early eighties, Sanjay Dutt didn't have an easy going life. Going into rehabilitation for drug addiction and then being sentenced for Jail in the infamous 1993 Mumbai blasts case, Dutt had a rollercoaster ride in his professional as well as personal life. Though he is now turned as a good human being, but unfortunately paying the ill-effects of his earlier past deeds. However, Dutt is considered to be as a fighter and survivor, and will continue to remain so.

1. Vidhaata (1982)In Vidhaata, Sanjay Dutt got opportunity to share screen space with legendaries like Dilip Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar, along with Amrish Puri, Madan Puri and Shammi Kapoor. The movie showed the trouble and frustration that a young man would have, after he is being pushed into a life of crime. Though Sanjay Dutt was in the company of superstars like Sanjeev Kumar and Dilip Kumar, he marked his presence and the movie was a huge success at the box office.
2. Naam (1986)Naam is a very interesting movie that handled the issue of illegal immigration, the life of crime in a foreign land and other aspects. The movie was released in 1986, right at the time when the youth of India were wondering about how to make their inroads into other foreign countries, with Dubai being on the top of their list. Kumar Gaurav and Sanjay Dutt gave a stunning portrayal of people who were stuck in the channel because of various reasons. It's one of the best movies of the actor Sanjay Dutt.
3. Thanedaar (1990)Thaanedar was a runaway hit of the season. It starred Jeetendra and Sanjay Dutt for the second time after Zahreelay. In Thanedaar, Jeetendra plays an honest police officer, who is being shifted to a small town. However, he is getting killed by some goons on the way, and Sanjay Dutt, who is a petty criminal, takes his seat of the police officer for his own good. The movie was well known for the unique script, and also for the impressive song and dance sequence of the song Tamma Tamma.
4. Khalnayak (1993)The movie evoked a lot of controversy even before it was released, because of the raunchy song that was filmed on Madhuri Dixit and sung by Ila Arun. On the other side, Khalnayak was a critical success at the box office, and was a commercial success too. Sanjay Dutt's performance as an anti-hero was applauded, and is still being remembered by all.
5. Aatish (1994)Years after its release, the movie was much-appreciated and became famous among the action lovers in Bollywood. Aatish is one of the first movies to show bloodshed, point blank shooting and to give various insights of gangland rivalry and politics happening inside. Interestingly, Sanjay's character name is Baba in the movie, and in real-life too he is known as Sanju Baba.
