Launched by his father in 'Rocky' in the early eighties, Sanjay Dutt didn't have an easy going life. Going into rehabilitation for drug addiction and then being sentenced for Jail in the infamous 1993 Mumbai blasts case, Dutt had a rollercoaster ride in his professional as well as personal life. However, Dutt is considered to be as a fighter and survivor. No matter what is going through in his personal life, but he will be always remembered by his brilliant performances in movies, especially in a villainous character. Here is a list of the top five movies, in which Sanjay Dutt starred and played negative roles.Thanedaar (1990)Thanedaar was a runaway hit of the season. It starred Jeetendra and Sanjay Dutt for the second time after Zahreelay. The movie was well known for the unique script, and also for the impressive song and dance sequence of the song Tamma Tamma. It is interesting to note that the dance sequence was not done by Sanjay Dutt, but was actually carried out by Javed Jaffrey.

Khalnayak (1993)The movie evoked a lot of controversy even before it was released, because of the raunchy song that was filmed on Madhuri Dixit and sung by Ila Arun. On the other side, Khalnayak was a critical success at the box office, and was a commercial success too. Sanjay Dutt's performance as an anti-hero was applauded, and is still being remembered by all.

Aatish (1994)Years after its release, the movie was much-appreciated and became famous among the action lovers in Bollywood. Aatish is one of the first movies to show bloodshed, point blank shooting and to give various insights of gangland rivalry and politics happening inside. Interestingly, Sanjay's character name is Baba in the movie, and in real-life too he is known as Sanju Baba.

Vaastav (1999)While Sanjay Dutt has acted in several action and revenge movies, but this one was one of his best, and the movie also went on a runaway commercial hit. In Vaastav, Sanjay Dutt plays the son of a poor man, who falls into the life of crime. The actor is still remembered for his powerful performance and terrific dialogue deliveries.

Agneepath (2012)Though Sanjay Dutt had played many negative characters in his career, but this one was one of the most terrifying characters he had ever played. Reprising the role of Kancha Cheena, Sanjay Dutt's look was extremely deadly and was equally highly praised for his powerful performance. Agneepath was a remake version of the old cult movie having same name that starred Danny Denzonga as Kaancha Cheena and Amitabh Bachchan in leading role.
