Going by the recent trend, leading filmmakers of the Bollywood industry have time and again touted their major plans on remaking an existing film, be it by borrowing a blockbuster film from the yesteryears or by attempting to remake a regional film. Having already seen quite a few, such films in the past years let's specifically check out on the Hindi remakes of 2013.
HimmatwalaDirected by Sajid Khan, Himmatwala was the first remake attempt that released on the 29th of March, 2013. This action comedy venture was an official remake of the 1983 film of the same name. In fact, having retained the main backdrop of the story, this reprisal version simply improvised on the style, by boarding in lead actors Ajay Devgn and Tamanaah. However, Himmatwala remake downed to be an epic fail in terms of the box office ratings.
Chashme BaddoorNext on the Hindi remake pipeline is Chashme Baddoor. Directed by David Dhawan, this comedy flick borrowed its inspiration from the 1981 blockbuster, of the same name. With actors Ali Zafar, Taapsee Pannu and Divyenda Sharma being casted in lead roles, the film released on the 5th of April, 2013. Having garnered massive interest in the first few weeks, the film soon lost its impression at the box office but won many hearts.
ZanjeerLastly, the third Hindi remake of this year was Zanjeer. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, this action flick picked up its inspiration from 1983 blockbuster, Amitabh Bachchan starrer of the same name. Starring Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles, the film released on the 6th September, 2013. In fact the makers also clubbed a Telugu version to this remake attempt but call it a hideous fate, both the remake versions claimed to be a disaster at the box office.
