Bollywood actress Jiah Khan committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence on June 3, 2013. Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai with her mother Rabiya. Worked in well-known films like Nishabd, Ghajini and Housefull, Jiah Khan was in a 'live-in' relationship with actor Aditya Pancholi's son Sooraj Pancholi. According to a six-page note found after the death of actress, her mother alleges that the failed relationship had forced the actress to commit suicide, where she was even forced to abort her child with Sooraj earlier in 2013.

The tragic end of the 19-year old actress Divya Bharti, who had fallen from the window of her fifth floor apartment around midnight on 5th April of 1993, still stays as one of the most shocking deaths ever encountered in B-town. However it's still not known that whether the promising actress, who had risen within a short period and was expected to reach the top in the coming years of Bollywood, committed suicide or met an accidental death or was a murder. And thus her death continued to remain a mystery till date.

South sex-symbol Silk Smitha was found dead on the morning of September 23, 1996, in her home in Saligramam near Chennai. It is suspected that Smitha committed suicide by poisoning herself. In a suicide note that she had written in Telugu, she claimed that repeated failure in life had led to frustration and forced her to take this drastic step. Vidya Balan's award winning film 'The Dirty Picture' was loosely based on the life of Silk Smitha.

The legendary yesteryear actor turned filmmaker Guru Dutt was found dead on 10th of October 1964. His death is said to happen because of lethal combination of sleeping pills in excessive alcohol, but it's still debated as suicide since his family maintains that it was an accident. However this was Guru Dutt's third suicide attempt, and filmmaker Abrar Alvi who was conversing with Dutt on that night claims that he felt Guru Dutt was too depressed and unhappy.

Kunal Singh was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil and Hindi films. He is best known for his role in 'Dil Hi Dil Mein' in which he was paired opposite Sonali Bendre. Kunal too hanged himself to death on February 7, 2008, from a ceiling in his Mumbai apartment by actress Lavina Bhatia. The apparent suicide was challenged by his father Rajendra Singh who claimed that the body showed some signs of suspicious mark, but the police were unable to prove any other person's presence in Kunal's apartment at the time of his death. However, he had attempted suicide by slashing his wrists several months earlier too.
