The year 2012 is almost coming to an end. It has also been a year of mixed emotions and opportunities for the stars of B-Town. Here we have a list of some of the stars who have had a fruitful 2012 and have won allocates for their performance. These actors have been at their versatile best and have come forth in their meatiest avatars to sweep us off our feet.
Although it is a tough task to limit ourselves to a handful from the rising number of talented stars, yet we have mentioned the top ten out of the lot:
Salman KhanSalman Khan has tasted stardom and seems to have delivered two hits back to back. The first being Ek Tha Tiger and the latest is his sequel Dabangg 2. His role as a brave spy for the former won the masses and not to forget his ever lovable persona of Chulbul Pandey with his trademark style. Salman surely has ruled the year this time.
Ranbir KapoorPost the success of Rockstar, Ranbir Kapoor has risen the benchmark even further with his performance as a deaf and mute character in Barfi! Ranbir's performance just tugged at the heart strings and he silently entered our hearts. The toughest part is that he had to express all his emotions without uttering a single word. This would not have been easy for even the most talented actors; however Ranbir did give a performance par excellence. Hats off!
Aamir KhanBetter known as Mr. Perfectionist he accepts and expects nothing but the best. Hence, it is only natural that although his suspense thriller Talaash got a luke warm response initially, yet with his golden touch he turned the tables and made the money bells jingle. Although the masses had a mixed response to the storyline, yet Aamir's role has been appreciated and the fans would never think of anything less than perfect for their favorite star.
Shahrukh KhanThere is a segment of people who felt that King Khan was now past the age to essay the role of a lover. However, his role as the brave army man in Jab Tak Hai Jaan was a saga by itself. The movie was a big hit despite tough competition and the hype seeing Katrina Kaif and SRK sharing a sizzling chemistry. It is for this very film that King Khan broke his resolution of no kissing after being convinced by the late Yash Chopra. Incidentally this film also had a lot of sentimental value as this was the last directorial venture by the veteran maker who succumbed to dengue later. The bottom line is that King Khan's fans simply loved him and the year has been fruitful for him as well.
Akshay KumarAkshay Kumar has been exceptionally lucky as he has delivered almost 5 hits in the same year. Except for his film Joker which was a box office dud, his other ventures, Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Oh My God and Khiladi 786 generated a huge response and a couple of them even entered the elite 100 crore league. His roles have been very versatile and he has essayed stunts as well as rib tickling comic roles. The cherry on the cake was his bagging the role of "Krishna" in OMG which was his ultimate performance.
Ajay DevgnThe versatile and dynamic son of Veeru Devgn has given the box office numerous hits such as After Singham and Golmaal 3. Ace filmmaker Rohit Shetty later gave Ajay an image revamp in Bol Bachchan and he took the audience into a storm of laughter and guffaws with his Hindi to English translation. He played a boisterous Sardaar for his film Son of Sardaar and here too he won the heart of the masses with his performance. His film went on to enter the 100 crore league.
Irrfan KhanIrrfan simply stole the heart of the viewers with his role in the biopic Paan Singh Tomar. The movie was an instant success and Irrfan was appreciated by the masses and the critics as well.
Manoj BajpaiManoj Bajpai was one star who had to wait for his due share of appreciation. However the year 2012 has been a great one for him. His performance in Gang of Wasseypur won over the critics and the movie buffs. His role as a freedom fighter for the historic film Chittagong too won him a lot of praise and his talent came across to the world in a big way.
Nawazuddin SiddiquiHe is one actor who was pushed into the shadows although he had tremendous potential and talent. However with his role in Gangs of Wasseypur the tables turned in his favor and there has been no turning back since then. He has also been a part of films such as Kahaani and Talaash.
Sanjay DuttSanjay Dutt has been an ever green hero and has also ventured into comedy. However in the remake of the iconic Agneepath he essayed the role of Kancha Cheena to perfection. He attained the perfect look by donning sinister makeup. In contrast he essayed yet another diverse role of a comic character for the film Son of Sardaar.
